We have a 2021 Model Y. It is our only car. We absolutely love it. Being able to charge at home is huge. Haven’t been to a gas station in six years (we had a Chevrolet Bolt prior). We have taken several long distance trips. Super chargers all over the place. It does take a bit to charge up from 5% to 80%, about 25 minutes, but gives us time to take a break, walk around, get a bite to eat, use the bathroom etc. After 3.5 hours or so in any car requires a break.

The Tesla is the perfect car for you. A low mileage driver with multiple other vehicles. You work from home, charge at home, and don’t live in a cold climate. In addition both lovers and haters will watch and take part on your channels. It might drive you crazy, but that’s the nature of the beast.

So, activating the turn signals mid turn (because you forgot), now the buttons are on the other side of the steering wheel and opposite to what is indicated by their arrows.

So I have a question. Mine used to do this and now it doesn’t. I e changed the batteries and still locks me in.

Never seen a Tesla driver use signals except a middle finger if that counts?😢

What happens if you accidentally hit the screen and break the whole thing? I think you said in a previous video you can shift up top by the rearview as well, right? just in case that screen gets damaged so you can still drive the car?

There's something about the bare minimalist design of the interior. Not much to distract one. But having the screen off to the side, rather than in the driver's line of sight, does not seem to be as safe. Maybe Elon could put a HUD just for your speed?

I just replaced both batteries. I read the aux battery is for the SS system in addition to "other systems". Not sure what they are referring to. Still have a SS warning light. No codes stored. Such a PITA...

Love my jeep as a daily driver…..I have ATVS for off-roading…..not taking my 40k truck through ruff terrain 🤷🏽‍♂️……but I do like the idea that if necessary ……I CAN go places that most vehicles can’t!!!!

Great video. I also got stuck with “interesting” results on the dash. The Stop Start service warning was still popping up. Found out that disconnecting the main battery’s negative entirely was needed for 10 minutes in order to do an electrical reset.

Buying my Tesla last year was one of the most painless automotive transactions I have ever done. Tesla's direct sales method means you DO have to do your homework but not having to deal with a dealer's price negotiation, trade negotiation and some F&I guy's high pressure sales tactics to sell you high-markup warranties and protection packages (now THAT'S scary).

I had a similar experience in Florida so it’s not just Texas . Also the trade kinda works in your favor . Like whatever number they told you they giving it to you they do not actually inspect it. Goes straight to wholesale I guess

I want to ask you about the insurance on your Tesla. I have Geico for my 5 cars, motorhome, and house, and they quoted me around $850.00 for six months, which is about $300.00 more per month than my most expensive car which is a 20 Subaru Forester. How much did your insurance go up from your current vehicles. Getting insurance that is not too expensive will determine if I buy a Tesla. I live in Northern California around 35 miles from the Tesla factory, and I have a perfect driving record.

Wow… I’m shocked (no pun intended) that you bought a Tesla, Rob - but in a good way! Ignore the haters… that’s a cool car that I’d bet you’re going to enjoy immensely! I’m looking forward to your driving impression videos and see what mods you do to make it yours. I wish all Model 3s qualified for the $7500 federal rebate - but unfortunately, only the Performance trim level does.

That is a different way to buy, I do have a tesla dealership not too far from me in Maryland.

Tesla has been trying their best to sell "factory direct" despite all the state laws that mandate indepently owned dealerships, hence all the hoops through which one has to jump. Your experience shows why doing the entire buying process online is not as easy as advocates would have you believe. Hope you have a happy time with the Model 3.

I'm not a betting man but I'd bet that machine gets good gas mileage.

I love mine but the lack of stalks is a pain in the arse. Apart from that it’s awesome. Really weird not going to a servo (except for a piss and food on a road trip😂) I mainly charge at home or at the destination on a trip.

I just put a K&N cold air intake with the aluminum intake pipe on this morning. Noticeably louder when you step on the gas. Almost like I have a custom exhaust. Nice open airbox too. Easy filter removal.

OMG Rob, I can’t believe you bought one of these, but hey looks pretty sharp, pretty decent price point I know they’re pretty heavy with all those batteries and don’t park in the garage you might burn your house down😂!! I don’t know I’ve seen videos of these things catching on fire I just had to throw that in, I know they’re pretty decent probably the best electric vehicle around just wondering what your electric bill would be charging it probably not as much as fuel, it will be interesting to see what you do with this car!!👍

Why? Why buy an electric vehicle? The infrastructure isn't there to sufficiently support electric vehicles.

Aloha Rob. I guess the RAV4 was part of the trade for your new Tesla. The only thing that you need is the house charger for Tesla. This is going to be very interesting to see you mod your new car. This is definitely more exotic than the Prius Prime.
